How To Choose The Right Destratification Fans
Sizing the number of destratification fans you need depends on factors like the size of the space, ceiling height, temperature differential, and the fan's airflow capacity. Below is a step by step method to help you determine the right number:
1. Measure the Space
- Length × Width = Total Floor Area (m2)
- Ceiling Height = Important for air mixing
2. Consider Air Changes per Hour (ACH)
- The goal is to mix the entire air volume multiple times per hour.
- A typical target is 2 air changes per hour.
3. Select Fan To Suit Your Building Height
- See the table below showing Cart DSF mounting heights
4. Placement Strategy
- Evenly space fans throughout the area.
- Ensure fans push air gently downward without excessive draft.
Example Calculation
Warehouse: 30m × 20m, 6m ceiling
- Total Volume = 30 × 20 × 6 = 3600m3
- Target ACH: 2
- Required Airflow: (150,000×4)/60=10,000(3600×2)= 7200m3
- Fan Model: Cart DSF40 = 3955m3/h
- Number of Fans: 7200 / 3955 = 2 fans
Model | Cart DSF20 | Cart DFS40 | Cart DSF60 | Cart DSF80 | Cart DSF100 | Cart DSF120 |
Airflow (m3/h) | 2450 | 3955 | 6800 | 8510 | 9700 | 11435 |
Mounting Height Min (m) | 4 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 |
Mounting Height Max (m) | 9 | 10 | 12 | 14 | 18 | 20 |
